Say anything! Finally, I watched it.
I really wish I would have seen it when it cam out in 1989. I would have watched it every day, all day long. I did like it a lot. It was everything an 80's movie should be. BUT-we are so spoiled now and come so far 2 decades later that it was outdated (imagine that!) I am sure I would be saying the same for Pretty in Pink or The Breakfast Club if I had waited twenty years to see it. Oh, an let me just say....Lloyd Dobler is DEFINITELY no Duckie! All in all, it was a great movie. It did not disappoint. I am sorry, though...John Cusack is a dork. He really is. I didn't really like him back them, and I still think he's nerdy now. I was definitely more into the Emilio Estevez type then. It took me years to realize that I was in love with Duckie and not Blaine.
OH...on another note, but kinda the same...The other day, my son Brandon was hanging out with a kid named Dylan. I told Zac (my husband), "Oh how cute, Brandon and Dylan!!" Brandon was confused, as was Dylan. Zac says, "Honey, they have no idea what you are laughing about. THAT show was 20 years ago." I said, "No way!! 90210 was only like a couple years ago!" Then I counted. 90210 actually began 18 years ago. Craziness!! I AM old.

ok I'm sad i totally missed the reference to the Dylan and Brandon thing! crap! i loved 90210 as much as the next person. and really Luke Perry still does it for me. HOT! but am i so old i can't freaking remember the dreamy hunks from the past? Sad! my memory is shot!
whoohoo for say anything. Hi I'm Lloyd Dobbler. is such a dork then and now but heavenly day it is a cute movie right? glad you liked it. and the outdatedness kills me too.
yea about the tag...scratch it. i deleted mine after i was spammed to near death...sorry, i am glad you didn't do it yet.
You know what really sucks is seeing a movie you loved when you were a teenager on the classic movie channel. I can't believe that 90210 was 18yrs ago. Next your going to tell me there is no Santa.
YOU WERE IN LOVE WITH BLAINE? Oh, sister, you had some adolescent problems. He was so slimey.
I was all about Ponyboy back then.
Hey how you've been? If you get a chance, stop by my HipMamaBlog tomorrow..I am announcing a new blog with a contest. Hopefully you can join. :)
90210 was actually after my time...do you feel better?
Another classic is The Sure Thing. I'm sure that if I watched it with my sons though, I would be horrified at how risque the whole thing is. (I didn't realize there was so much cussing in Back to the Future, until I watched it with my kids. Whoops!)
I so choose Lloyd over Duckie!
And really? 18 years ago? I AM old.
We like Say Anything at our house too(it's in our DVD collection). I didn't catch the Dylan and Brandon thing either, and I was a dedicated 90210 fan! It's been a long time I guess, 18 years, wow!!
Oh man, my husband and I just realized the same thing the other day. He said something about something being 20 years ago. Which, of course seemed like forever ago. Until I realized I was in freaking HIGH SCHOOL 20 years ago. WHA??!!
Sidenote: I've got some girlfriends coming to visit for a few days next week from out of state. I happened to turn on 90210 the other day and it was the Pilot episode. Needless to say, it's been tivo'd and on our list of things to do/watch, lol.
Where are you??? Hope you're having a wonderful valentine's day!!
I watched 90210 today! It was the episode where Brenda almost marries some dude in Vegas.
Good times.
